I spent some time yesterday looking back over this year and got a little bit nostalgic! It’s been quite a year so far and I’m really thankful for every wedding I’ve been able to document. So many adventures have been had and so many incredibly special moments witnessed.
In April this year I finally took the big leap and went full time as a wedding photographer – turning my back on a good career that I’d put a lot of effort in to. People always want to know how I’m finding it and I have to be honest – it was a million gazillion percent the best decision I ever made. I absolutely love being my own boss, I love taking photos all the time and I love meeting new people and giving them something they can cherish. So it’s fair to say being a wedding photographer feels so totally me. It’s hard work for sure and you can never really switch off – but it’s so immensely rewarding. Most of all I’ve loved that it’s given me a lot more time with my two kids and that’s really what matters . I’ll write more in time on my big switch but all I can so is a big so far, so good!
I’ve still got 6 weddings to go. So this isn’t a full year round up. In fact it was meant to just be a little look back with a handful of photos… then it got a bit bigger and then a bit bigger and then some more…EEEEK! But hey ho – hopefully if you’re reading this you have a few minutes to scroll through some of my favourites. I hope you like some of these and they make you smile.
Most of all I hope they have brought happiness and joy to all my awesome awesome couples this year. I’ve made so so many new friends and really believe more than ever I have the best job in the world. Hashtag grateful!
I full review of 2015 will come in January as usual but for now here’s what 2015 has served up so far!
If you’re looking for a wedding photographer for your 2016 or 2017 wedding do give me a shout. I’ve got a few slots left (about 6 to be precise!) for 2016 so get in touch and we can go from there.
