I have a bit of a soft spot for Norfolk. Not a 100% sure why but I always have! Maybe it’s because I have quite a few friends from there, maybe it’s because it’s always sunny when I’m there or maybe it’s just because it’s a blimmin’ lovely part of the UK!
Until earlier this month I’d never done a wedding in these pleasant lands so it was with great excitement when I set my sat nav to take me towards Norwich for Sarah and Rob’s Langley Abbey wedding. Ever since Sarah got in touch last August I’d been looking forward to their wedding – I knew it was going to be a great one!
The day started at Sarah’s parent’s amazing house with Sarah and her entourage of lovely bridesmaids, her folks of course (May and Graham) and their array of special dogs and cats. The atmosphere was electric, helped by the gorgeous June day that we had outside. Our time went by fast and it wasn’t long before we were heading for the church. Now this wasn’t any old church. This was a church is May & Graham’s back garden. Not only that, they had led the huge restoration efforts to see it back to it’s former glory, over a number of years. This made for an even more special ceremony, given it was the first official wedding that had been held at Forncett St Mary church for a very long time. I must congratulate them on an amazing job – it was the most wonderful setting for Sarah and Rob to make their vows.
We then headed to Langley Abbey – a well known (for good reasons!) venue south-east of Norwich. The glorious sunshine continued and so Langley Abbey was able to be enjoyed to it’s fullest, with drinks outside overlooking the green fields that adjoin it. The rest of the day was lots of fun – some great speeches, dancing and I particularly enjoyed doing Sarah & Rob’s portraits as the sun set. I would highly recommend Langley Abbey for a wedding – lovely backdrop, great layout and most of all fantastic staff (special mention to Michael and Amy for being particularly awesome!).
Sarah and Rob – I wish you many years of happiness and I hope these photos provide great memories for you!
