I’m an 80s baby living by the sea in Brighton & Hove. I have an amazing partner, Kirsty, and three brilliant kids who are my whole world — and my favourite people to photograph.
I grew up in Tunbridge Wells, so weddings in Kent always feel like coming home.
Outside of photography, I’m a long-suffering Spurs fan, a very amateur runner, a gym lover, and someone who tries to squeeze as much joy into life as possible. I’m happiest in the sun, on warm summer days, with the people who matter most.
I didn’t start out as a wedding photographer. My first career was in advertising and marketing, working with major brands from 2004 to 2015 in London. It was exciting, but I knew deep down it wasn’t me. Running my own business was the dream, and that corporate grounding shaped the professional, reliable approach I’m known for today.
I shot my first wedding in August 2011, and I’ll never forget it. Exhausting, incredible, and utterly life-changing. Seeing the couple’s reaction (thanks, Kelly and Mark!) made everything click—this was what I was meant to do. A month later, Jonny MP Photography was born, and I threw everything into making it my full-time career that same year.
Since then, I’ve photographed over 550 weddings across the UK and around the world—Mexico, New York, Ibiza, Tuscany, Santorini, and more. I still pinch myself that this is my job.
In 2021 and 2023, I was named Best Wedding Photographer for South East England at The Wedding Industry Awards—an honour that means the world because it’s based entirely on client feedback and expert judging.
I genuinely love what I do, and I’d be thrilled to tell your story next.
I’m not the photographer hiding quietly in a corner. I’m right there in the heart of the day—blending in, joining the atmosphere, and capturing moments as they naturally unfold. Couples often tell me it feels like having an extra friend there… who just happens to be documenting everything beautifully.
My style is 95% documentary, 5% portraits. I focus on genuine emotion, real interactions, and the details that bring your wedding story to life. The result? Photographs that feel effortless, honest, and full of warmth.
EMOTIVE, EXPRESSIVE, UNPOSED WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
I believe the best photos are the ones that take you straight back to the moment. I keep portraits natural, relaxed, and quick—around 20–25 minutes, ideally in soft evening light. No awkward posing, no cheesy setups. Just the two of you, exactly as you are.
With years of experience, I bring a calm, confident presence to the day and give absolutely everything from morning prep until the final beats of the party.
“My work is rooted in feeling.”
It usually comes down to two things:
You love the style, and you feel comfortable with the person behind the camera. Your photographer is with you all day, so that connection matters. I always recommend a video chat or meet-up to make sure it feels like the right fit.
My approach is modern, authentic, and far from traditional. If you’re after stiff poses, endless formal group shots, or old-school clichés, I’m probably not your guy. If you want something real, relaxed, and full of soul—then we’re likely a great match.

I’m in the mix capturing the energy as it happens.

natural, dramatic, and authentic.
not just the two of you, but the people who matter.
I stay well beyond the first dance to capture the party in all its glory.
especially at dusk, when everything feels magic.
I blend in, chat, laugh, and help people relax.
