Superlatives are often over used. I am guilty of it no doubt. So when I say Mike & Sophie’s wedding at Burloes Hall was AWESOME I really mean awesome off the scale of awesome!
Now I’m in my 4th year as a Surrey wedding photographer, I am more convinced than ever that I don’t just want to shoot 35 weddings a year – I want to shoot 35 awesome weddings a year. Weddings that are fun and spirited. Weddings that are authentic. Weddings where everyone is super welcoming and make you feel one of their own. Weddings in beautiful locations. Weddings of people brimming with happiness and life. This is my bullseye and Mike & Sophie smashed that bullseye out of the park.
There’s so much I could say about their day at Burloes Hall wedding. First and foremost Mike and Sophie are clearly legends. You couldn’t help but witness their day and not come away realising these guys are much loved and massively popular amongst many people. Their lively (!) group of friends and family certainly have a lot of love for them both. Their first dance to ‘You’ve Got The Love’ was one of the most powerful first dances I’ve ever seen. It involved everyone and there was so much love and a few tears. I even nearly lost it myself.
Sophie’s dress was insanely stunning. The boys looked fantastic in their blue three-piece suits. The girls rocked beautiful full length dresses – making for an all round rather model like wedding party!
The weather doesn’t make a wedding but it sure does help. We got a June day you’d dream of when you book a June wedding. It was warm. Just a little wind and a good serving of sunshine.
And then we come on to Burloes Hall, near Royston, in Hertforshire. I have nothing but positive things to say about such a top up and coming wedding venue. It has only recently started to host weddings and I can’t see it being long before these guys are inundated with requests from savvy brides. It provides such a fantastic backdrop for your wedding and such a stunning setting, you really are spoilt. From a photographer’s point of view I loved it because there was so many beautiful spots for photos. From their secret garden, to the huge fields that stretch as the eye can see, Burloes Hall without doubt is a wonderful place to get married. It’s set on a hill so there are so many amazing views in every direction. Without doubt I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a stunning Hertfordshire wedding venue. Having now got to know Mike and Sophie I’m not surprised they snapped up Burloes Hall – it really is a hidden gem.
Have an amazing mini-moon Mike and Sophie!
